This week’s new movies on demand include one of the biggest blockbusters of the year so far, Jurassic World Rebirth, and the acclaimed A24 feature Sorry, Baby, starring Eva Victor. And then, falling somewhere in between, are loads of other great films.
We’re excited to relive our younger years by watching It’s All Gonna Break, a new documentary about the early-aughts Canadian supergroup Broken Social Scene that features a look back at the rock collective’s history and lengthy roster of musicians like Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Leslie Feist, and Emily Haines. Also out this weekend is The Occupant, a movie starring Ella Balinska as a geologist named Abby who becomes stranded in the remote wilderness and learns that there’s something mysterious and terrifying lurking there. Rob Delaney co-stars as the mysterious voice over the radio that is supposedly guiding Abby to safety. Or is he?
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
Jurassic World Rebirth is the latest film in the Jurassic Park franchise and was written by David Koepp, the writer of the original film. In Rebirth, an expedition team – led by Scarlett Johansson – is tasked with taking samples from the last remaining dinosaurs on Earth to aid in medical research on a remote island near the equator. On the trip, the team, as well as a shipwrecked family, become stranded on the island, and have to hold off the dinosaurs until they can escape (or die, depending on who you’re talking about). The film is available now on demand.
Billions actor Eva Victor makes their filmmaking debut with Sorry, Baby, an A24 dramatic comedy about a woman who suffered a traumatic assault in college that has lingering effects. Written and directed by Victor, the film co-stars Naomi Ackie, John Carroll Lynch and Lucas Hedges.
