We’re halfway to October, but this week’s new movies on demand are filled with enough thrills and frights to make you think we were in the middle of a Halloween movie marathon. Among the biggest titles this week are Bring Them Down, a revenge story starring Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott as rival shepherds in rural Ireland and The Rule of Jenny Pen, a psychological thriller starring John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush.
Also out this week is the new indie film Ex-Husbands starring Griffin Dunne as a man freshly divorced after 35 years of marriage. In an effort to distract himself, he heads to Mexico, where he ends up crashing his son’s Tulum bachelor party.
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
If there is one thing in this world more terrifying than anything else, it’s a haunted doll. We’ve seen them before in movies like Annabelle and M3GAN, and in the new psychological thriller The Rule of Jenny Pen, starring John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush, there’s a new doll in town, and she starts to menace the inhabitants of a nursing home. The eyeless Jenny Pen is not necessarily haunted, but she does inspire Lithgow’s deranged psychopath character to abuse his fellow residents.
Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott star in the new film Bring Them Down, about rival shepherds whose personal grievances spill into a bloody conflict between their families. The film arrives on demand and to MUBI this Friday.
