Paul Rudd) in the latest Marvel film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is the first film in phase 5 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. In A Thousand and One, Teyana Taylor stars as Inez, a mother who kidnaps her son Terry from the foster system after she’s served time in Riker’s Island. The story is told over several years, as Inez keeps her son’s identity a secret and tries to shield him from the violence and poverty that plague them in 1990s New York City. Universally acclaimed for both the writing and directing from A.V. Rockwell, as well as for Taylor’s performance, the film won the the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival this past year.
