Hulk Hogan died about an hour after medics responded to his Florida home for a “serious” medical issue, police confirmed Thursday.
Medics were dispatched to the 71-year-old wrestler’s Clearwater home just before 10 a.m. Thursday, and he was briefly treated on the scene.
“[Hogan] was experiencing a serious medical related issue,” Clearwater Police Department Nate Burnside told reporters during a brief press conference.
“Personnel provided medical treatment at that time,” Burnside added, explaining Hogan was taken to a nearby hospital.
He died there around 11:17 a.m., police said.
An official cause of death has not yet been released, but police confirmed there were no signs of foul play.
TMZ reported a 9-11 call was made from Hogan’s home for a possible cardiac arrest, though police did not comment on the nature of the medical issue.
