Reality television has a habit of teaching us way too much about people we don’t know, and Netflix‘s latest unscripted show The Trust: A Game of Greed is no exception.

Premiering on January 10, 2024, the show follows 11 strangers as they are given the opportunity to either evenly split $250,000 or anonymously eliminate their housemates.

As emotions run high, many of the contestants have opened up about their backgrounds, including 28-year-old entrepreneur Julie who grew up in extreme poverty.

With backstabbing, gossip, and alliances underway, there’s one player, Jay, a 70-year-old retiree, who has cultivated a trustworthy and honest image.

While Jay stays fairly tight-lipped about her personal life, she has earned herself the nickname “Mama Jay” among the others.

Though Jay has already proven herself to be memorable, she has a big moment in Episode 5 of the series, called “Selfishness Is NOT Black and White,” where she cuts the cheese during a solo interview.

At this point in the game, several contestants have been eliminated, including Bryce Lee, who made himself a target in Episode 4 by admitting that he’s actually a millionaire. The men on the show are upset by his as they have agreed since Day 1 to not vote anybody else.

Jay starts off the morning in a happy mood, cracking jokes with her roommate and flitting around the outdoorsy area of the cliffside mansion. While doing a talking head interview with Netflix, she tells the producer, “Can I tell you something? I’m going to tell you a secret. Guess what I did for the very first time! I pulled my swimsuit over and went to the bathroom, and didn’t pee on my fingers or get my suit wet.” That’s an overshare!

The producer remains quiet and Jay doubles over in laughter, during which she lets out a toot. “Oh! I just farted! Excuse me. Delete that,” she quickly says. “You know that that’s called: multitasking! When you laugh and fart at the same time!”

Well, Mama… we’re sorry to tell you that Netflix did you dirty and they didn’t edit your flatulence out of the episode. Hopefully you’re still in a joyous mood and can laugh it off! At least it’s not as bad as Gaspare’s side eye to the camera after you told him that you wanted him to help you put on your spandex swimsuit.

Regardless, Jay has managed to put smiles on the faces of those she lives with and those watching on the small screen — and this episode isn’t any different!

The Trust is currently streaming on Netflix.
