NextImg:NBA draft prospect Brandon Miller bizarrely picks Paul George as his GOAT

One NBA Draft prospect’s greatest NBA player of all time isn’t one you’d ever expect.

While being interviewed ahead of Thursday’s big day, likely lottery pick Brandon Miller said who he felt is the greatest basketball player — and it wasn’t LeBron James or Michael Jordan.

He instead showed love for Clippers forward Paul George.

“I actually don’t think LeBron is the GOAT of basketball,” Miller told Bally Sports’ Brandon Robinson. “My GOAT of basketball is Paul George, I grew up watching him.”

“The Podcast P with Paul George” showed plenty of love for Miller on Twitter after the comments went viral.

“S/o projected top 3 pick Brandon Miller for his GOAT response,” the account tweeted.

The Alabama product has drawn plenty of intrigue ahead of the draft — with some experts comparing the newcomer to George.

Miller profiles as an elite scorer and crafty ball handler after he hit 43 percent of his shots from the field —38.4 from behind the arc — during his freshman season at Alabama.

Overall, he averaged 18.8 points per game with 8.2 rebounds over 37 contests as the Crimson Tide fell in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Those numbers are close to the career numbers of George, who has averaged 20.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game over the course of his 13-year career in which he has been an eight-time All-Star and six-time All-NBAer.

Miller is expected to be the No. 2 overall pick — over Scoot Henderson — in the draft by no other Jordan-owned Hornets, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported, after the prospect shined at a private workout.

But Miller also was going to honor Jordan, explaining that he intended to wear black and red at the draft at Barclays Center, similar to the clothing the Basketball Hall of Famer wore for 14 years with the Bulls.

If Miller is indeed taken by Charlotte, Jordan’s first conversation with the young prospect could be an entertaining one.
