The Nationals are calling upon two new faces to match up against the Yankees.

Washington’s top prospect, Dylan Crews, is set to have his MLB debut at Nationals Park on Monday against the Bronx Bombers, according to Grant Paulsen of the MLB Network Radio.

Similar to calling up James Wood in July, the Nationals are announcing the news three days in advance.

The 22-year-old outfielder was drafted by the Nationals in the first round (second overall) in the 2023 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Louisiana State University and he is currently the No. 3 prospect across the league.

Crews, who is known for speed and is expected to play center field on Monday, spent 2023 in Washington’s minor-league affiliates, where he held a slash line of .292/.377/.467 before he was promoted to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings in June.

Across Triple-A this summer, Crews has a .271 average and .807 OPS for 56 hits, eight home runs, and 19 walks. So far in 2024, he has 107 hits and 13 home runs, along with 60 runs scored and 25 stolen bases.

Crews hit may have stamped his majors invitation on Tuesday with a three-run home run to give the Red Wings a lead against the Phillies’ affiliate Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

The Nationals may be turning to new faces as they’re falling deep in the NL East and are 10.5 games behind the sixth and final wild-card spot.

Washington (58-70) face a three-game series against the Braves before heading back home to face the Yankees.
