The Yankees-Nationals game was delayed in the bottom of the seventh when Nationals right fielder Stone Garrett suffered a scary injury to his left leg when he hit the wall trying to make a leaping play on DJ LeMahieu’s leadoff homer.
Garrett, in obvious pain as he laid on the ground and was attended to by the medical staff, had a cast put on his left leg before being removed on a cart.
Garrett was visibly upset as he left the field, crying and covering his face with a towel.
LeMahieu’s homer made it a 6-0 score, furthering the Yankees’ lead.
