Police have released the last known photo of Aaron Pennington, the Massachusetts father of four still being hunted for the brutal murder of his wife, Breanna.
The 33-year-old suspect is seen glancing down at a doorbell camera on Oct. 11, just over a week before his 30-year-old wife was found shot dead in their Gardner home Sunday.
The image, the last known of the suspect, was released Thursday amid the ongoing manhunt for the suspect last seen driving away from the murder scene in his white 2013 BMW, which was found in woodland late Monday.
“At this time, Pennington is believed to be on foot,” said the office of Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early while distributing the doorcam image Thursday.
A murder warrant was issued Wednesday, a day after investigators allegedly found a disturbing note on Pennington’s phone written just after 7 p.m. Saturday, the night before his family found his wife’s body with a gunshot to the head
“Don’t say anything. Be quiet [sic] If she wakes up just say you’re getting nasal spray,” the note read, according to a warrant obtained by WCVB.
“Get on the side of the bed — very close proximity to the head. Put hole in her head.”
Breanne was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to the face in a bedroom after their children ran to a neighbor asking for help.
She had planned to move with the four kids – ages 2, 5, 7, and 9 – to Texas in order to get away due to marital troubles, a criminal complaint in the case previously revealed.
Those who knew them said Pennington struggled with mental health issues and threatened suicide in the past.
Breanne was known to have a gun for her protection, but investigators did not find a firearm – though they did find three spent shell casings in the room where she was found dead, according to an affidavit.
He is described as a white man with blond hair and blue eyes and is believed to be about 6-foot-2 and weigh 175 pounds.
