Watson star Morris Chestnut left Today‘s Jenna Bush Hager and Willie Geist absolutely shocked when he cracked a rather naughty joke about his wife on the show.
Chestnut was visiting Today With Jenna & Friends to promote his new medical mystery series on CBS when Bush Hager pointed out that she shares something in common with the actor.
“One thing that we sort of have in common is I met my husband at a bar, you met your wife at a club,” she said. “It shows you the clubs can bring us together!” She pointed out that Chestnut and his wife, Pam Byse, have been married for 29 years as she asked him to share the story of how they met.
“Yes, yes. She was on pole number seven,” he joked, prompting immediate laughter from Bush Hager and Geist.
Geist was clearly shocked by the joke. “No!” he said as he laughed. “I didn’t know [the poles] were numbered.”
Chestnut clarified his joke as he shared people’s typical responses to the story of how he met his wife.

“Yeah, we met at a nightclub. People say, ‘Oh, you met her at a club?’ But every time someone says that, I say, ‘Have you ever been to a club?’ And they say, ‘Yeah!’ Everyone has been to a club,” he said. “It’s just the time you meet someone. There’s good people at clubs. It’s just what their intentions are.”
The moment marked the end of their segment, but Bush Hager called his joke “hilarious.”
Geist, on the other hand, warned Chestnut that this won’t be the last he’s heard of this joke.
“You’re gonna hear about this, by the way, after,” he warned the actor.
New episodes of Watson air Monday nights at 10/9c on CBS.
