Catch it before it’s a memory.
Montauks’ iconic Memory Motel is coming to Manhattan — briefly.
A pop-up new location of the spot made famous by the Rolling Stones song of the same name is coming soon to the old Bar None space in the East Village.
The cult favorite spot, where Mick Jagger is rumored to have had an affair with “You’re So Vain” songstress Carly Simon, dubs itself an “anti-bottle service dive club,” and will have sports on Sundays.
(It’s going to be open for 69 days. But we’re told that number isn’t a cheeky joke inspired by whatever Jagger and Simon got up to in their room. It’s just the “way it organically worked out,” since the spot set to close following a New Year’s Eve party.)
Somewhat confusing, while the Memory Motel was an actual motel Stones’ day, the Montauk spot is now just a bar. Guests won’t be able to sleep at the East Village outpost either.
We hear that regulars out East will recognize their favorite DJs and even bar staff from the Hamptons spot. They’ll be serving up drinks in the bar’s signature red cups.
Jagger and the Stones spent five week in the Hamptons hotel in 1975, recording their album “Black and Blue” in one of the rooms while staying at Andy Warhol’s nearby mansion, named Eothen.
Jagger, Keith Richards and crew would “get all liquored up, shoot pool, brawl a bit and play the piano until the wee hours of the morning” writes local rag Dan’s Papers.
The eponymous song details a one-night stand, with many believing the woman described is Simon.
More recently, the bar has seen celebs like Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul hanging out and doing shots.
