NextImg:Mom shares ‘genius’ way she hides her cell phone from her toddler

Do you ever feel like your phone is practically an extension of your arm?

When you’re not using it to book appointments, organize playdates or reply to work emails, you might find yourself indulging in some… scrolling, god forbid.

But if you have a toddler or younger child, you’ll know that they’ll often want what you’re having – screentime.

This is why one mom has taken it upon herself to share the hack she uses to hide her phone from her toddler – who is, like many a toddler, obsessed with her screen.

And it’s as hilarious as it’s genius.

Farah PInk is seen on TikTok explainging how she hides her phone inside a fake book.

Taking to her account, @farahpinkk, the mom shared her creative hack and the video has now amassed nearly 200k views, 20.9k likes, and 500 comments.

Farah starts by saying: “I always feel like a piece of s–t when I’m on my phone and my daughter is playing by herself so I bought a fake book so I can hide my phone in it.”

Farah then holds up the book, which she bought online, and opens it up to reveal its hollowed-out contents.

“The pages look pretty real but you can only flip the first few pages. Then here in the middle, you can stick your phone in it,” she explains.

Then she demonstrates the nifty tool in action.

Farah films herself relaxing on the couch with her ‘book’ while her daughter plays in front of her, none the wiser.

“She’s gonna think I’m reading but really I’m on my phone and she’s gonna be playing.

“I’m setting a really good example,” she jokes.

The influencer doesn’t say where she bought the book from, but you can find similar ones on Amazon, or you could even try making one yourself.

Fellow parents took to the comments in awe of the mom’s innovative hack.

“Wait this is genius but also sad that we must go to these lengths,” one woman pointed out.

Another added: “Hi, are we best friends? Because you’re a genius!”

And this person joked, “Mom, why is your book playing TikTok songs?”

But while her idea inspired many, some people said that it wouldn’t work with their kids.

“My kids would be all up in my business wanting me to read to them,” someone wrote, to which Farah replied:  “It’s only a matter of time before she catches on.”

Another commented, “No but my kid will take the book from me.”

And this person noted, “This means we had to hide our phones in our childhood from our parents and now from our kids. That’s sad.”
