NextImg:Mom feeding possum oblivious to gigantic huntsman spider right under her nose

Coming face-to-face with creepy crawlies the size of dinner plates is just part and parcel of living in Australia – so much so that sometimes we don’t even notice when they’re right under our noses.

Like one Aussie mom who was too busy feeding a possum to notice the massive huntsman spider that came to join the dinner party.

Arachnophobes, you’ve been warned, there’s a very big spider in the video.

Bianca Jayne was preoccupied with filming herself feeding a possum that had climbed under the rafters of her veranda to see a gigantic huntsman inches away from her hand.

She wrote on the video she didn’t even see the spider until after someone pointed it out and she re-watched the footage.

The size of the eight-legged critter would have been enough to send any other person running from the hills, but not Bianca, who continued feeding the possum by hand.

At one point in the video she even held her hand under the possum as it noshed on an apple – which had dropped the apple she offered it a number of times – right by where the spider would eventually come to sit.

And, somehow, when the spider zoomed into frame she was too busy watching the “cute” marsupial eating the apple to notice.

After a few more seconds, accompanied by the spider, she laughs and says she will leave the furry creature to “eat your apple in peace.”

As she backs away from the possum, the full size of the spider comes into view.

Bianca turned the comments off her video, which has been viewed more than 2.3 million times on TikTok.

She shared a number of other videos with the possum in her backyard, including the moment the possum “saved itself” from her “lazy cat”.

In another video, once it was sitting on the rafters and started eating an apple, Bianca said she “touched the tail” of the furry guest.
