A Manhattan model claims her boozed-up boyfriend threatened her with a 41-inch spear-like weapon, according to a disturbing lawsuit.
Ombeline Cahn, a 5-foot-9, brown-eyed stunner whose image has appeared in French fashion mags, claims tech company founder David Lipa came home to their East Village apartment “in very drunk condition” and began to “verbally abuse” her.
He then “pulled down a sword that he had hanging from the wall, positioned the sword over [her] chest, and threatened to kill [her] and her dog” before hitting her in the face and ear, according to the lawsuit and Cahn’s lawyer.
The sword is actually a long blade called a “spit,” according to zombietools.net, which sells a similar steel weapon for $669.
The item is illegal in New York, Cahn, 26, said in court papers.
She went to the NYPD and obtained an order of protection. Lipa, 38, was arrested and charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
The criminal case is ongoing.
Lipa, who co-founded the virtual document storage company called Lightserve, also allegedly refused to let Cahn back into their $1.1 million home, she said.
“When she was finally able to re-enter, with the assistance of the police, she saw that Mr. Lipa had stabbed and destroyed her clothing,” her lawyer, Nonna Shikh, said in a statement.
The pair began dating in April 2022 and moved in together four months later.
Lipa “would regularly get drunk and take Adderall” before the unsettling incidents, says French native Cahn, who also works as a graphic artist.
Lipa allegedly slapped Cahn in the face, twice, in November and at other points, threatened to kill her and her dog, Sega, by dangling it out of a window, she said in the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages.
“Ms. Cahn is in complete emotional distress and physical pain from the actions of Mr. Lipa,” the attorney added.
Lipa could not be reached for comment.
