NextImg:MLB PrizePicks predictions: Jorge Soler, Spencer Strider primed for massive outings

We are back with another Monday edition of MLB picks using PrizePicks.

It feels like the baseball season is almost over, but we actually still have eight more weeks before the playoffs start.

Many teams have shown their cards by dealing good players at the trade deadline, while others have acquired pieces to make a run to the postseason.

After a deep dive into the PrizePricks lobby, I have come up with my favorite four projections for tonight’s slate.

Lopez has been one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball this season and is a big reason why the Twins are leading their division. He owns a 3.20 xERA with a strikeout rate of 30%.

He doesn’t walk many batters, which allows him to pitch deep into games. He has averaged 7.5 strikeouts per start this season and has racked up at least seven strikeouts in seven of his last nine starts.

Lopez draws a favorable matchup against the Tigers, who have the seventh highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.

I expect this projection to be 7.5 or even 8.0 by the time of first pitch, so try to get the 7.0 while you can.

We go from one strikeout projection to another, as we are taking Striker to record more than 9.0 strikeouts.

He has a major league-leading strikeout rate of 39% and draws a favorable matchup on the road against the Pirates.

With Pittsburgh out of the playoff race, their lineup has been watered-down over the last few weeks and it’s not like they had a great offense to begin with.

On the season, they have the seventh highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.

For tonight’s game, eight of their projected starters have at least a 20% strikeout rate and four of them have at least a 29% strikeout rate.

We are going back to another strikeout prop, this time in Milwaukee.

Peralta is another ace that is taking the mound with an exploitable matchup.

He gets to square off against the Rockies, who have all but given up on this season.

They have traded away key pieces and have one of the weakest lineups in baseball.

Their projected lineup for tonight’s game has eight batters with at least a 23% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.

Peralta has been very good at home this season and racked up 10 strikeouts against Colorado in their first matchup this season.

For the last projection, we head to one of the best hitter’s parks in all of baseball.

The Marlins are in the hunt for a wildcard spot in the National League, so this series against the Reds is important for both teams.

Soler has been one of the best in baseball against left-handed pitching this season, racking up a .467 wOBA and a .424 ISO.

Those are absolutely massive numbers and tonight he gets to face Brandon Williamson, who has allowed a .353 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

One extra-base hit will get the job done, as will two singles.
