Appearing on Tuesday’s broadcast of the Quick Lane Bowl between the Bowling Green Falcons and Minnesota Golden Gophers was not something the fiancée of Minnesota quarterback Cole Kramer “ever anticipated.”
Reflecting on her now-viral moment in a recent interview with People, Katie Miller — who became a talking point on social media after cameras panned to her in the Ford Field crowd — opened up about supporting Kramer, which drew some Taylor Swift comparisons online.
“Being featured as much as I was at the game wasn’t something that I ever anticipated, but at the end of the day I was just pumped to be there supporting Cole and the rest of the team in their victory,” Miller said of Minnesota’s 30-24 win.
Miller, a registered nurse who announced her engagement to Kramer in May 2022, was likened to Swift by Quick Lane Bowl viewers as the Grammy winner’s gameday appearances to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, are heavily publicized.
“Katie Miller is the Taylor Swift of the Quick Lane Bowl,” one X user posted Tuesday, while another wrote: “Katie Miller is getting more screen time than Taylor Swift.”
Miller, however, called the parallel “a bit of a reach.”
“I do think being compared to Taylor Swift is a bit of a reach, but as someone who shed tears of joy getting to see Taylor at the Eras Tour earlier this year, I’ll take it,” she told People.
Miller had much to celebrate Tuesday when Kramer, a third-stringer in the regular season, made his first career start.
Kramer completed 8-of-16 passes for 26 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also ran for 31 yards.
Miller posted a heartfelt message to Kramer on Instagram following the game.
“By your side every step of the way. The most humble & hardworking guy, you deserve every good thing and more. So incredibly proud of you and the strength and humility you’ve shown throughout this chapter of your life. I adore you #12… Now lets get MARRIED!!!!” she exclaimed Tuesday.
