Black Friday sales once sent shoppers into an unbridled frenzy, with brawls breaking out over once-a-year bargains.
But, according to one millennial, the holiday sure as hell ain’t what it used to be.
Anthony Koz posted a TikTok tirade claiming Black Friday deals are now duds — and it quickly amassed a staggering 17 million views.
“Black Friday has become an insult,” Koz passionately declared, before unleashing a verbal onslaught.
He lamented the absence of adrenaline-pumping discounts and reminisced about the years when jaw-dropping sales were worth wrestling over.
“The younger generation is never going to understand … like ‘I heard in 2010 that someone punched an elderly woman in the face for a TV.’ Yeah because it was 80% off!” Koz quipped, highlighting the drastic contrast between past and present deals.
His frustration reverberated in every word as he scoffed at the current state of sales, such as $10 off a Bluetooth device.
“What are you out of your mind?” he asked in exasperation.
Koz painted a vivid picture of what true Black Friday deals should look like — discounts so jaw-droppingly insane that jail time and legal fees would still be a cheaper option than paying full price.
His vision of chaos-inducing, bargain-basement prices resonated with many disheartened shoppers who yearned for the thrill of Black Fridays past.
“Old Black Friday was fun,” one person nostalgically wrote. “The chaos was unmatched.”
“Old Black Friday prices made life worth living,” echoed another, longing for the days of genuine deals.
And, in a testament to the shared sentiment, someone humorously reminisced, “Black Friday fight videos were so fun to watch on a Saturday.”
