Highlights from the Rangers’ Game 1 win over the Hurricanes Sunday afternoon.

1. Mika Zibanejad 

A pair of first-period goals from Zibanejad, including a dazzling finish on Chris Kreider’s power-play feed, keyed the afternoon for the Rangers. 

2. Vincent Trocheck 

Trocheck was there to clean up the garbage when Zibanejad finally missed a chance late in the first and notched a secondary assist to go with it. 

3. Adam Fox 

Any Ranger defenseman could go here, but Fox gets the nod for his secondary assist and power-play contributions. 

The Rangers’ win looked inevitable after scoring twice on the power play in a combined 24 seconds at five-on-four late in the first period.
