Michelle Obama has been MIA — for her kids’ sakes.

The former first lady explained to Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast listeners Thursday why she is “not interested in politics” as a mom of two.

“I was so glad when we got out of the White House,” the 61-year-old admitted, referencing the end of her husband former President Barack Obama’s second term in 2017.

“I wanted them to have the freedom of not having the eyes of the world on them,” she said of daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23. “They still are dealing with paparazzi and being who they are and trying to carve out their own identity.”

Because of that, Michelle noted, “When people ask me, would I ever run [for office], the answer is no.”

She said that those wondering “have absolutely no idea the sacrifice that your kids make when your parents are in that role.”

The former lawyer added, “Not only am I not interested in politics in that way but the thought of putting my girls back into that spotlight when they are just now establishing themselves — we’ve done enough.”

As far as Michelle is concerned, the “question [has been] asked and answered” and is “never gonna happen.”

She concluded, “They’ve already served their time. … It would be unthinkable. Nope.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Michelle broke down the struggle of raising “normal” children in the public eye — without them “ending up on Page Six.”

Her comments come amid rampant headlines about her absence from her husband’s side during recent outings, including former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Trump’s inauguration.

Michelle also missed the Los Angeles Clippers game Barack, 63, attended earlier this month.

She is “checked out” of D.C. life, a source told Page Six in January. Bloomberg via Getty Images

Page Six reported in January that Michelle is “checked out” of Washington, D.C., life and is “never there,” opting to spend “most” of her time in Martha’s Vineyard.

A source told us, “You cannot tell Michelle what to do — no one can.”

As for rumors about her and Barack’s marital struggles, Michelle and the politician have subtly — and repeatedly — hit back with loved-up social media uploads.
