Michael Vick is officially becoming a college football coach.

The former Falcons star and one-time Jets quarterback has been hired as Norfolk State’s new head coach, according to The Virginian-Pilot

The 44-year-old Vick, who played his college ball at Virginia Tech, had never coached at any level before agreeing to take over a program that went 15-30 the past four seasons under Dawson Odums.

Odums was fired in late November.

An introductory news conference for Vick is expected within a week, the Pilot reported.

He is the second high-profile college football hire in the last week, with former Patriots coach Bill Belichick taking over at North Carolina.

Vick, who has worked as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports since retiring in 2015, was a four-time Pro Bowler.

He spent time playing under lauded head coaches Andy Reid in Philadelphia and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin in his final season.

Vick spent the 2014 season with the Jets, starting three games.
