NextImg:Michael Oher had Tuohy family ‘around often’ after ‘Blind Side’: ex-teammate

A former Baltimore Ravens teammate of Michael Oher said that following the release of the hit film “The Blind Side,” Oher and the Tuohy family still had a relationship.

Domonique Foxworth played with Oher in Baltimore in 2009 when the film staring Sandra Bullock as the Tuohy family matriarch and Quinton Aaron as Oher was released.

Foxworth recalled Oher hosting the family at the team facility on occasion and their presence at charity events.

“The Tuohy family was around often, and he did have them involved in his affairs,” Foxworth said on “The Dan Le Batard Show on Tuesday.”

“I remember doing charity events with Michael when they would show up so at that point, they were still in his life in some way.”

Oher claimed in a shocking lawsuit filed on Monday that the Oher family had him enter into a conservatorship while making him think that they had adopted him.

Oher, who played eight years in the NFL, said that he only learned of the conservatorship in February of this year.

Oher claims that through the conservatorship, the Tuohys made millions of dollars thanks to “The Blind Side,” which grossed $300 million in the box office, while he didn’t receive a single cent.

The Tuohy family has denied the claims and their lawyer announced on Wednesday that they would seek to end the conservatorship, according to the Associated Press

Foxworth said during his appearance on the show on Tuesday that he could see Oher’s side of the story.

“It’s an interesting story to look back on because I could see how this can happen,” Foxworth said. “You’re a young kid, and this family has to the best of your knowledge looked out for you up to this point, and they asked you to sign some papers because we’re going to make you an official member of our family. Apparently, that’s what Michael believes happened.”

While Foxworthy remembers the Tuohy family still around right after the movie, the relationship did appear to deteriorate.

The family’s Lawyer, Randall Fishman, told reporters on Wednesday that Oher and the Tuohy family had been estranged for about a decade.
