Michael Irvin returned to the NFL Network airwaves Sunday, the same day The Dallas Morning News reported the Cowboys legend settled his $100 million lawsuit with Marriott.
Irvin, who was pulled from Super Bowl coverage by the network in February after being accused of misconduct by a female hotel employee in Arizona, appeared on “NFL GameDay Morning” with co-analysts Rich Eisen, Steve Mariucci and Kurt Warner.
In a statement to The Dallas Morning News, NFL Media spokesperson Alex Riethmiller confirmed Irvin had been reinstated.
“Michael Irvin has been reinstated and will be a part of NFL Network’s coverage of the 2023 season,” the statement read.
The Hall of Fame wide receiver, 57, was initially sidelined from his reporting duties from both NFL Network and ESPN in the wake of February’s allegations.
Irvin, who has vehemently denied the accusations and maintained his innocence, filed a $100 million lawsuit that month against the employee, claiming he’s being “railroaded” with false accusations.
He released in March footage of the encounter with his accuser, which lasts less than two minutes.
Irvin alleges he spoke with the employee about his sports media career and shook her hand.
He can also be seen touching the employee’s arm at another point in the clip before going their separate ways.
Marriott filed a motion in relation to the suit in March, alleging Irvin displayed aggressive behavior toward the hotel employee.
Details regarding the settlement terms were not disclosed, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Prior to his NFL Network return, Irvin appeared on FS1’s revamped “Undisputed” with Skip Bayless.
He joined a new lineup featuring Richard Sherman and Keyshawn Johnson following the departure of Shannon Sharpe over the summer.
