NextImg:Michael Block sinks hole-in-one at PGA Championship in surreal scene

The Michael Block fairytale story got even more surreal on Sunday.

Stepping up to the 15th hole with a 7-iron in hand during the final round at the 2023 PGA Championship, Michael Block hit a perfect shot that went directly into the cup for a hole-in-one.

No grass, no bounces, nothing but cup.

The crowd went wild as Block, 46, looked around in disbelief.

While shaking hands with Rory Mcllroy, Block said, “No way. That didn’t go in, did it?”

Just when we thought the fan frenzy couldn’t get better, it did as they jumped in jubilation for the surging club pro.

The shot moved Block to even par and tied for 14th place, just one stroke back of 10th.

The Post’s Mark Cannizzaro reported that Block’s previously largest check was $75,000 when he won at Myrtle Beach in 2014.

The shot heard around the golfing world is worth a hefty sum for Block.

A top-20 finish in the PGA Championship would net Block a cool $213,000 while a top-10 finish would net him at least $465,000.

Coming into the weekend, Block was charging $150 per lesson to golfers, but it’s safe to say the price will jump a bit more.

Block, who entered the final round in a tie for eighth, got a massive ovation from the crowd at Oak Hill in Rochester when he was introduced with McIlroy at the start of Sunday’s round.
