Micah Parsons and the Cowboys aren’t anywhere close to reaching a deal, and the All-Pro linebacker is considering “drastic measures,” such as a trade request or even cutting ties with the team, The Athletic reported Friday.

Parsons, who is in the final year of his rookie deal, reportedly negotiated on his behalf with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones over multiple days in the spring, and the team believed they had reached an agreement.

When Parsons’ agent reached out in an attempt to negotiate further, the Cowboys wouldn’t budge as they wanted the four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher to honor the deal they thought was in place.

The Cowboys now refuse to engage with Parsons’ agent, and the standoff is seemingly getting worse by the day.

“[If] we sign him, doesn’t mean we’re going to have him. He was hurt six games last year, seriously,” Jones said last month. “I remember signing a player for the highest paid at the position in the league and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year, Dak Prescott, so there’s a lot of things you can think about, just as the player does when you’re thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.”

Parsons, 26, has reported to training camp, but he has not participated in on-field work.
