The Mets added to their outfield options by signing Taylor Kohlwey to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training, the club announced Friday.

Kohlwey had a strong minor league campaign in the Padres’ system last season, when he slashed .276/.390/.437 with 12 home runs and 15 steals.

He debuted in July and appeared in five major league games before being optioned.

The 29-year-old, who played all three outfield spots last year, had been with the Padres since being drafted in 2016.

Kohlwey projects as depth to the Mets’ outfield, which at the moment includes five 40-man-roster members: Brandon Nimmo, Starling Marte, DJ Stewart, Alex Ramirez and Cooper Hummel.
