Michael Tonkin, competing for a spot in the Mets’ bullpen, pitched 1 ¹/₃ scoreless innings with three strikeouts in a 1-0 exhibition loss to the Marlins in Port St. Lucie.
Tonkin, who allowed one hit and one walk, hasn’t surrendered an earned run in his three spring appearances.
A power surge at Clover Park after the first pitch knocked out the electricity, which was quickly restored.
But SNY, needing a reboot, was off the air for the first inning.
Francisco Alvarez continued his impressive spring training behind the plate by throwing out Jon Berti attempting to steal second base.
Alvarez has thrown out 5 of 12 (41.6 percent) of runners attempting to steal against him in the Grapefruit League.
