In his first professional season, Mets catching prospect Kevin Parada is turning heads — and as a result, being rewarded for his production.
The 22-year-old Parada, the No. 5 prospect in the system and ranked 93rd overall according to MLB Pipeline, was promoted Tuesday from High-A Brooklyn to Double-A Binghamton.
The No. 11 overall pick in 2022 out of Georgia Tech was hitting .265 with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs and a .787 OPS in 87 games for the Cyclones this season.

The two top-ranked prospects in the organization — infielder Luisangel Acuña and outfielder Drew Gilbert, who were obtained in the deadline trades for Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander, respectively —already were on the Binghamton roster.
The Rumble Ponies, with three of the club’s top prospects (Acuna No. 1, Gilbert No. 2 and Parada No. 5) are home Tuesday to open a six-game series with the Harrisburg Senators.
Binghamton is three games behind the Somerset Patriots, the Double-A team of the New York Yankees, in the Eastern League’s Northeast division.
