In his first season with the Mets, Juan Soto achieved a feat he had never completed in his big league career.

With a steal of third base in the eighth inning on Tuesday against the Phillies, Soto joined the 30-homer, 30-stolen base club for the first time.

It marked the seventh such time a player has reached the milestone in franchise history, the last being Francisco Lindor in 2023.

Soto had never had more than 12 stolen bases in a year before 2025, and he’s three home runs away from tying his career high (41) that he hit last year with the Yankees.

The Mets only have had five players reach the plateau: Howard Johnson (three times), Darryl Strawberry, David Wright, Lindor and now Soto.

With 16 games to go after Tuesday, Soto, who has 38 homers, has an off chance to reach the 40-40 club, something that has never been done in Queens.
