As Melania Trump prepares to assume the role of First Lady once again, she is also getting the documentary treatment.

Amazon Prime Video announced yesterday (Jan. 5) that they would be releasing the Melania film later this year, per CNBC. A spokesperson for Amazon noted in a statement shared with the outlet that they have “exclusively licensed an upcoming documentary film for both theatrical and streaming release that will give viewers an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look at First Lady Melania Trump.”

The statement also noted that filming for the documentary, which will be directed by Brett Ratner, kicked off in December 2024, and that the doc has “an anticipated release in the second half of 2025.”

“Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalized,” the statement continued. “We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world.”

Ratner was accused of sexual harassment by several women in 2017. He earned his most recent producer credit on the 2019 film Georgetown.

Per Amazon’s statement (via Fox News Digital) , the documentary is being executive produced by Fernando Sulichin for New Element Media, as well as by Melania herself. As noted by the outlet, president-elect Donald Trump‘s wife released a memoir titled Melania in October.

The doc landing on Amazon doesn’t come as much of a surprise after The Wall Street Journal reported last month that boss Jeff Bezos would donate $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund. While the Amazon CEO was critical of Trump in the past, he’s appeared to inch closer to the president elect as his second term approaches.

Amazon’s Melania doc is just the latest release about the Trump family. It arrives a couple months after the debut of The Apprentice, the controversial Trump biopic starring Sebastian Stan as the young version of the president elect. Stan received a Golden Globe nod for his performance, and ultimately won another Golden Globe for his work in A Different Man.
