NextImg:Mel Gibson Voices Support For Donald Trump, Says Kamala Harris Has “Got the IQ of a Fence Post”

Actor Mel Gibson has voiced his support for former president Donald Trump, saying that VP Kamala Harris has “got the IQ of a fence post.”

While Harris has been the favorite among Hollywood elites, with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Julia Roberts, and Spike Lee appearing at a recent rally, Gibson is taking a different stance.

In a new video published by TMZ on Thursday evening, Gibson revealed to the cameraman (while heading toward TSA at an airport) that he’s voting for Trump.

“I don’t think it’s going to surprise anyone who I vote for,” Gibson said. The cameraman, after some thought, answers with, “I’m gonna guess Trump. Is that a bad guess?”

“I think that’s a pretty good guess,” Gibson responded. “I know what it’ll be like if we let her in. And that ain’t good. Miserable track record. No policies to speak of. She’s got the IQ of a fence post.”

Gibson’s comment mirrors Trump’s recent attacks on Harris, referring to her as a “low IQ” candidate while on the campaign trail.

The Oscar-winning actor and director, who is perhaps most famous for his role in the movie Braveheart, has been mostly hush about his political opinions as of late. He did, however, salute former President Trump near a UFC match in 2021.

Earlier this year, Trump posted a meme to his social media platform Truth Social featuring images of Gibson, including from Braveheart, captioning each with “Me voting for Trump” in 2016 and 2024, respectively. He added the line, “Either way, Mel Gibson is GREAT!”

Gibson took somewhat of a step back from the movie industry after his hit films The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto. He was arrested for a DUI in 2006 and has a documented history of anti-Semitic remarks and racial slurs.

His 2016 comeback film, war drama Hacksaw Ridge, scored him an Oscar nomination for directing, as well as nods in Best Picture and Best Actor for star Andrew Garfield.
