While the whole world watches the series finale of The Crown this week, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, was also making an appearance on the screen in an ad for a coffee company she invests in called Clevr Blends.
The ad stars Clevr’s founder, Hannah Mendoza, giving a shoutout to the various teams that work at Clevr: the fulfillment crew that packs and ships coffee orders, the digital team responsible for “making sure the website doesn’t crash,” and the “ops team.”
In each scene, Markle appears to be lurking in the background as an average employee, until she walks through the frame at the end to give one of her co-workers a failed fist-bump, leading everyone in the frame to burst out laughing.
Markle is an investor in the brand that makes vegan oat milk-based coffee drinks, so her appearance doesn’t come as a huge surprise, though it marks the first time Markle has returned to the screen in something other than her Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan.
For those of us who were secretly wishing that The Crown might time jump ahead a decade to feature the “When Harry Met Meghan” years, this is just the thing to scratch that itch.
The Crown is now streaming on Netflix.
