Meghan Markle and Prince Harry believe their recent Emmys snub is a disaster of royal proportions.

The couple’s Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, which was released in 2022, received no nominations on Wednesday, which according to royal expert and editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward, has both “irritated” and “devastated” the two ex-royals.

“But of course [they] will not show it,” she explained to Mirror.

In spite of the snub, the series was quite well-received, as it broke the streaming giant’s record for the biggest documentary debut with a whopping total of 81.6 million hours streamed just four days after its release.

The series received a Hollywood Critics Award nomination for Best in Streaming Nonfiction, which Seward believed may soften the blow of Wednesday’s snub.

“Meghan and Harry will concentrate in this and make it a positive, however irritated they might be not to be in the Emmy nominations,” she told the outlet.

Seward also discussed the primary critiques of the show, which is that Meghan and Harry “talk about the royal family as if they were the enemy, while they themselves are trying to save the world.”

Nonetheless, the two have recently been down on their luck, losing their $20 million deal with Spotify that they signed in 2020, and would have been a “multiyear partnership.”

The show, which is a part of a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix, is the first of more projects to come from the couple, whose next documentary, according to Mirror, is rumored to surround Harry’s charity for servicemen, his TV show Heart of Invictus, or Harry returning to Africa. However, the doc involving Harry going to Africa may not include Meghan, per Page Six, and is unable to be developed further amid the ongoing WGA strike.

Harry & Meghan is available to stream on Netflix.
