ESPN NFL analyst Mina Kimes has stormed through the sports media world since joining the network in 2014 as a magazine writer. 

While Kimes’ voice now spans print, digital, television, radio and podcasting, she has kept her personal life pretty private.

Husband Nick Sylvester has been by her side –– albeit, behind the scenes –– as Kimes, 37, climbed the ESPN ranks.

And now, the couple is now expecting their first child together. 

Here’s everything you need to know about Kimes’ husband.

Sylvester is a producer, songwriter and co-founder of artist development company Godmode, which is based in Los Angeles.

Godmode has put out artists such as Channel Tres, JPEGMAFIA and Yaeji. 

Sylvester would work in the studio with Godmode’s artists and focus on telling a cohesive story through vocal, lyrical and visual elements. 

The Harvard graduate recently left Godmode to start a new label and production company called Smartdumb. 

“’Smartdumb’ is music that starts with a question mark and ends with an exclamation point,” Sylvester said, according to The Spun. “I am interested in music that makes you say ‘what?’ then ‘wow.'”

Sylvester was also one of the original writers for Pitchfork, an online music publication. 

Sylvester and Kimes tied the knot in September 2015 at Material Culture in Philadelphia. 

Philly is Sylvester’s hometown while Kimes was born in Nebraska. 

The couple was reportedly introduced through mutual friends and began their relationship in 2012. 

Kimes announced her pregnancy while attending the July 2023 ESPYS in Los Angeles. 

Revealing her baby bump on the red carpet, Kimes also posted the news on both Twitter and Instagram, along with a photo of her posing in a black dress. 

“At the espys, brought a date,” Kimes said on Twitter. 

“Adding someone to the roster for the 2023 season,” Kimes wrote on Instagram. 

Kimes’ baby-on-the-way will be the couple’s first.
