He might not be a federal agent, but he does bring the heat.

Left-handed high school pitcher Jack Bauer has made waves this year for his flame-throwing talent as he’s even topped triple digits on his fastball this season.

And, according to Prep Baseball Georgia, Bauer, of Lincoln-Way East of Illinois, might’ve had his best day yet on Tuesday when he sat with his fastball between 97-101 and once topped out at 102 mph against Coffee High School in Georgia.

The outlet added the he had a “sharp” slider to go along with a changeup in strong three-pitch mix.

According to Douglas Now, Bauer, a University of Virginia commit, held Coffee to one hit — a double — over 2 1/3 innings during the interstate matchup, taking the loss after striking out five hitters but issuing five free passes.

Baseball America reported Tuesday that Bauers was sitting in the mid-90s with some iffy control last year, but saw a huge jump in velocity this year, which the outlet believes could make him an intriguing choice in the first or second round of the MLB draft.

In a sitdown interview with LakePoint Sports this week, Bauer said what it was like when he first learned he had ever thrown triple digits.

“Yeah I threw two innings, I didn’t give up a baserunner, six straight K’s,” Bauer said. “I go back to the bullpen and we have guys that do a pitching chart. And they do a gun, and they’re like, ‘Scouts back there had you at 100. … I thought they were messing with me a little bit.”

He said he’s now working on the control of his off-speed stuff as he feels more confident with his heater.

Bauer wants to have a hard slider “tunnel” off his fastball instead of the more in-vogue sweeper.
