NextImg:McDonald’s workers reveal they ‘ignore’ drive-thru customers who do this one thing: ‘I make them wait’

A McDonald’s worker has slammed a drive-through act done by hundreds of customers every day as “rude.”

The social media user known as @maccaworkaddict took to TikTok to share a seven-second video of herself dancing.

Over the top of the video, the text read, “You can’t keep ignoring the car in the drive-thru because they screamed hello as soon as they get there.”

The employee expressed frustration because when someone drives up to the drive-through ordering box, staff wearing the headset are alerted by a buzzing sound.

She added that her videos shouldn’t be taken seriously as they’re “all a joke,” and did concede if you’d been waiting a while and heard nothing it was fine to try and get the worker’s attention.

Some social media users had a bee in their bonnet about her statement – while others who worked in fast food agreed.

“How about just saying, ‘One second, I’ll be right with you.’ I say hello because I don’t know if they know I’m there,” one user commented on the clip.

“Each time they say hello I make them wait another 10 seconds lol,” a fellow drive-through worker said.

Another said, “I hated this working at Burger King especially when this customer be out there sitting there yelling soon as I put the headset on.”

One added, “I only say ‘hello!’ as nicely as I can, if I pull up and no one says anything for a few minutes.”

“If I have to wait, I will simply go someplace else,” another said.

One added, “I relate wholeheartedly. I do this, or immediately reply, ‘Yes, How Can I Help You?!’ making it known I’m irritated.”

McDonald’s has been contacted for comment.
