Mayor Adams’ police detail helped apprehend someone trying to steal from a Wall Street department store, sources told the Post.

Cops on the mayor’s detail spotted a security guard at TJ Maxx trying to apprehend multiple kids who attempted to rip off the store shortly before noon and jumped out to help, sources said.

They were able to grab one of the kids, but the others fled and got away.

It is unclear whether Adams was with them at the time and whether the kids were able to steal anything.

The mayor was in Lower Manhattan to deliver remarks at Department of Citywide Administrative Services-sponsored “Hiring Hall” event on Chamber Street.
