You don’t have to ask Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby twice if he’s ready for his team to be a contender again.

Crosby is gearing up for his fifth year in the NFL with the Raiders, but the team has had limited success during his time, making the playoffs just once.

So when Crosby was posed the question about his anxiety for Las Vegas to be back in the postseason picture, he couldn’t hold back.

“Every single day, I come in here, I think about winning. I don’t do this year ‘round to come in and not make the playoffs — I’m sick of that sh–t. And I want to keep winning,” Crosby said. “I want to get back in the playoffs. I want to be in Cincinnati on the road in a hostile environment — that’s why I play the game. That’s why I work the way I work. I come here and I do this all year.

“And, like I said, I want to win championships. I want to be at the top of the game. I want to be the No. 1 guy, regardless of position. But I work for that every single day.

“So, yeah, I’m fired up for this organization. I love all the people in here. And I’m really just trying to be my best version of myself and lead by example.”

A path to the postseason will be tough for the Raiders in a tough AFC this year.

The Raiders’ only trip to the playoffs during Croby’s tenure with the organization came in the 2021-22 playoffs when they were knocked out in the Wild Card round by the Bengals.

Crosby is coming off a season last year where he had 22 tackles for loss, which led the NFL.
