Kyrie Irving was having some fun before Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
The Mavericks guard had a smile on his face during warmups at American Airlines Center in Dallas as he trolled the opposing Timberwolves, who face a steep 3-0 hole in the series entering Tuesday’s contest.
“We good, this is their Super Bowl,” Irving said before taking a shot and throwing down a dunk. “It’s just a normal game for us.”
Irving, the mercurial star, has all the reason in the world to smile, as his Mavericks have been on the winning side of all three games in the series and are on the verge of reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
The Mavericks stole home-court advantage from Minnesota, winning two games on the road by a combined margin of four points, including a Game 2 that saw Luka Doncic hit a game-winning step-back 3-pointer with four seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Irving, for his part, has excelled in the conference finals, scoring at least 20 points in each of the first three contests, including a 33-point effort in Game 3.
“I feel like we’re both born for this, if you ask me,” Irving told reporters after Game 3. “Down the stretch, that’s where we make our money, man. We’re finishing clutch games. We’re showcasing our skill sets out there.”

Now, Irving is on the verge of making it to his fourth NBA Finals and first since he went to three straight from 2015-17.
It’s a place where he’s excelled in his career, scoring 27.7 points per game on the NBA’s biggest stage.
