Matthew Perry’s former assistant and best friend, Briana Brancato, mourned the late actor days after he died from an apparent drowning.
Brancato took to Instagram Monday to remember the near decade she spent working alongside the “Friends” star.
“I’ve expressed my deepest gratitude to him on numerous occasions, not only for guiding me into a career I cherish but also for allowing me to take care of him for 7 years,” she wrote.
“Along [with] the countless other experiences I’m thankful for. From witnessing him in his genius to sharing in his worldly adventures living around the world, he took me on a remarkable journey.”
Brancato furthered that her “heart is heavy” but she is attempting to celebrate Perry’s life in “the most profound way” by keeping his memory alive.
“I hope that up there, in the great beyond, Mattman is sending us signs. We truly need them. You’ll forever be in my heart. ????????️ I love you Matty,” she concluded.
Along with the tribute, Brancato posted a slew of pics with Perry throughout the years.
The “Fools Rush In” star’s death shook Hollywood after it was revealed he was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi on Saturday. He was 54.
Perry was discovered by his assistant — not Brancato — two hours after he asked her to run him an errand, per TMZ.
Emergency services reported to his Los Angeles home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood after paramedics received a call about a cardiac arrest around 4 p.m.
According to TMZ, no illicit drugs were recovered from the scene but authorities discovered prescription drugs inside his home.
The actor was finally sober after spending decades hung up on drugs and alcohol, which he further detailed in his 2022 memoir “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.”
Perry — who starred in “Friends” as Chandler Bing for more than a decade before the sitcom ended in 2004 — was also mourned by his castmates on Monday.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc wrote in a statement to People.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”
The group concluded that they “will say more” in time as they mourn their pal.
Their comments come after a source told us that the cast was devasted and “reeling from the loss of their brother.”
Other celebrities, including Selma Hayek, who worked closely with Perry in the 1997 film “Fools Rush In” also broke her silence Monday after taking “a couple of days to process this profound sadness.”
