NextImg:Massive car wreck in Los Angeles injures 12 outside arena

Twelve people were injured in a five-car crash crash in Los Angeles Saturday night.

The massive wreck happened at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday just outside of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Exposition Park.

Of the dozen people injured in the collision, only seven were taken to the hospital, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart told Fox 11.

Five of those victims were in “at least serious condition,” Stewart added.

The crash, which happened near the intersection of W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, also left two people with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other two refused transport to the hospital, according to the report.

Images obtained by the outlet showed at least five vehicles were involved in the crash.

Three cars were seen facing one direction while the two others were left haphazardly across both directions of traffic.

Photos also showed a massive police and fire department presence, which caused the busy intersection to shutter for several hours.

Authorities directed those leaving a Queen + Adam Lambert concert at BMO Stadium, formerly Banc of California Stadium, to find alternative routes.

Exposition Park is a southern Los Angeles neighborhood home to a park with the same name that houses the stadium, several museums, the California Science Center, and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

It was not immediately clear what caused the collision.
