Is there anything that Martha Stewart can’t do?
In a recent video posted to her official TikTok page, the 82-year-old domestic diva, revealed her ultimate hack for getting stubborn lids off of jars — sparking a lively discussion on social media.
“Ever try to open a jar and you just can’t get enough strength out of your hands?” the Snoop Dogg sidekick began in the 21-second video, an oldie but goodie “Good Things” clip from her aughts-era “Martha Stewart Show.” The post has already been viewed nearly 600,000 times.
Instead of using a store-bought opener, the noted thirst trap queen suggests using a couple of rubber bands to crack open the stubborn jar. Sporting a denim button-down shirt, the CBD CEO placed a few of the rubber bands around the jar’s lid, and was able to easily wiggle it open.
“How great, three fat rubber bands,” the reformed jail bird said. “They’ll really give you that grip you need to open a stubborn jar lid.”
“They’re a good thing,” she concluded, shooting the camera a big smile.
The Post reached out to representatives for Stewart for comment.
In the comments section of her video, some thanked her for the genius tip.
“WOW, love this tip, Martha!♥️” one commenter wrote.
Another agreed, typing, “Listen, Martha Stewart is my Hail Mary when it comes to….. everything.”
Others, however, shared their own tips for opening a stuck jar — with many people claiming that a rubber glove does the job just as well.
“I use my rubber dish gloves, they work like a charm too,” one TikToker typed. “They’re a good thing.”
“Rubber gloves for the win!” someone else seconded.
“Just tap the jar lid on the counter,” another suggested. “It’ll break the seal. Or, use a rubber dish glove and twist lid off with it.”
But the lifestyle legend isn’t the only one who recently shared a life hack for opening a stuck jar — in January, social media users found another way to pop open a stubborn lid, no problem.
TikToker Dustin Hadley decided to try out the viral hack for himself — all you need to do is place a spoon underneath the lid vertically, then push it up and the lid will just pop off.
“You’re telling me for 40 years I’m having to get my wife every time I needed to open a jar, I could’ve been doing this?” Hadley said in the video clip. “Ain’t no way.”
As he tried out the spoon trick and the lid evidently popped off, he started laughing in disbelief.
“Never ask for help again with those pesky lids,” he concluded.
