NextImg:Marlins vs. White Sox pick: MLB odds, predictions, best bets

It’s time to respect the Marlins, who shouldn’t be underdogs to the White Sox on Friday on the South Side.

Entering Thursday, over the past month and against right-handed pitching, the Marlins lead MLB in OBP (.341) while ranking fourth in OPS (.769) and wRC+ (112). Luis Arraez is hitting over .400, while Jorge Soler and Jesus Sanchez are slugging over .500.

During the same time frame and split, the White Sox rank dead last in OBP (.272) and wRC+ (74).

The Marlins have been nearly 40 percent better at generating run production against right-handed pitching than the White Sox since the calendar flipped to May.

(8:10 p.m. Eastern)

We have a right-handed pitching matchup Friday.

Miami’s Eury Perez, a 6-foot-8 phenom with a triple-digit fastball and three-plus secondary offerings, has pitched to a 2.25 ERA through his first five MLB starts.

Chicago’s Dylan Cease has seen a drastic decrease in his fastball velocity and has lost movement on his slider. As a result, he’s walking more batters, striking out fewer and has a 4.63 ERA.

Miami has the better lineup and starting pitcher.

The Fish also have a bullpen advantage.

Miami boasts the third-lowest reliever expected FIP since May 1 (3.51), while the White Sox pen is a tad stretched after playing a doubleheader in New York yesterday.

This betting line is so disrespectful to the Fish.

Take advantage of the expected plus-money odds.
