It’s no secret that Mark Consuelos wasn’t the best in relationships before he married Kelly Ripa — but was he so bad that he needed a voodoo doll taken out on him? He seems to think so.
On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the co-hosting duo discussed last weekend’s weather, which was a brutal mix of “crazy” rain and a “heat wave.” In fact, the rain became so severe at one point that the show’s executive producer, Michael Gelman, found a leak in his home.
While Consuelos declared himself a leak expert, he revealed that he and Ripa once had a leak so bad it wouldn’t go away.
“We once had a leak for like six months when we lived downtown. I said, ‘You know what? This is something that I did to a girl in high school.’ She’s got a little doll — a voodoo doll,” he said, while making stabbing motions into a pretend doll.
After Consuelos explained that a “person who had unjust feelings of revenge about” him simply had to be the root cause of the unexplained leak, Ripa joked that she doesn’t “mind that at all.”
And to that, we say: if you know, you know.
In a May 2023 episode of Live, Ripa joked about her husband’s former womanizing habits — and how his mother likes to “rehash” his breakups to their three children during the holidays.
“You like to blame the woman. But from our perspective, it sounds like you were the [problem],” Ripa told her husband, to which he admitted, “Oh, it was definitely all me. I wasn’t good at relationships.”
The longtime Live co-host — who tied the knot with Consuelos in 1996 — even joked that his longest relationship before her likely only lasted about “four months.”
“I had some, like, maybe year — I don’t think I’ve had more than a year and a half,” he said at the time. “That was like my longest relationship. You know? Like a nice sweater.”
If men can learn one thing from Consuelos, it’s to not upset a girl in high school. You may end up with an everlasting leaky roof.
