The Florida man accused of planning and carrying out the murder of his wife’s ex, Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan, last year pleaded not guilty Tuesday through attorneys.

Mario Fernandez Saldana returned to court Tuesday morning for his arraignment in connection with Bridegan’s February 2022 Jacksonville Beach execution.

Wearing a white long-sleeved undershirt, an orange jail-issued jumpsuit, handcuffs and a straight face, the 34-year-old accused killer was flanked by his attorneys, who waived the formal reading of the four-count indictment.

Saldana is accused of meticulously planning Bridegan’s murder, carried out in front of Bridegan’s young daughter, Bexley, with his former tenant Henry Tenon.

He is due back in court May 3, according to a stream of the hearing by First Coast News.

Bridegan had two children with his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner-Fernandez.

He had two others with his second wife, Kirsten Bridegan.

Saldana was arrested on March 16, just hours after Tenon pleaded guilty to charges related to Bridegan’s murder.

He was charged in March with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony and child abuse.

Officials said Bridegan was driving with his 2-year-old daughter and had stopped to move a tire from the roadway when he was ambushed.

A bystander made the gruesome discovery and called police.

Investigators further said Saldana solicited Tenon’s help and then conspired with the handyman to carry out the premeditated slaying.

“Our investigation has revealed a single link between Jared Bridegan and Henry Tenon. That is Mario Fernandez Saldana,” State Attorney Melissa Nelson told reporters in announcing Saldana’s mid-March arrest.

Nelson said the investigation was “active and ongoing.”

“And it has not stopped today with the arrest of Mario Fernandez Saldana.

“We all remain committed to seeking the truth and that is the entire truth and holding accountable every single individual.”

Meanwhile, Bridegan’s ex-wife and her family have distanced themselves from her current husband in light of the recent charges.

Gardner-Fernandez’s mother’s company, Stampin’ Up!, announced in the wake of Saldana’s charges that Shanna and Mario had “been separated for an extended period of time.”

Gardner-Fernandez, who hails from a Mormon family, moved last year from Florida to Richland, Washington, with the twins and she Bridegan shared.
