A man was sucker punched and nearly beaten to death in an unprovoked attack that broke out at a bar in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said the fight erupted last Friday night at the Graham’s Beach Grill and Bar at around 2 a.m., when a man at a pool table was distracted by two people as a third suspect, Jermaine Simpson, snuck up behind him.
Bystander video caught the moment Simpson punched the victim from behind, immediately knocking him out.
After the victim fell to the ground, the two others, Thomas Busby and Regginald Jones, joined in and pounced with a flurry of kicks and punches.
Several people at the bar could be seen jumping in to pull the attackers away and checking on the unconscious man.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey said there was no apparent motive for the bar brawl, describing it as a “melee” that put the lives of everyone inside the bar at risk.
“They went as far as to stomp on his head, kicking him in his face, kicking him in his ribs, hit a pool cue over his head,” Ivey told Fox 35. “When you look at that incident, that was an extremely violent attack.”

Police said the victim, who has not been identified, suffered significant trauma, including a swollen eye, bruises across his torso, cuts on his lips and broken teeth.
Despite the injuries, Ivey said the victim was expected to make a full recovery.
Over the weekend, deputies arrested one of the suspects, Busby, a career criminal who has more than 15 arrests on his record, including previous instances and aggravated assault.

Bubsy was caught during a traffic stop on Sunday in Merritt Island and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
He remains incarcerated with bail set at $250,000.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the other two suspects, who are also wanted for attempted murder.
“These are violent individuals that the only place they are safe from the community is to be locked up,” Ivey said, urging residents to submit any tips on Simpson and Jones’s whereabouts to his office.
