Could there be a Knicks trade in the works? Or is this now a high-profile three-way battle for a final roster spot? 

Those questions became more relevant Friday morning as sources confirmed that Malcolm Brogdon, the veteran point guard and 2023 Sixth Man of the Year, is signing with New York on a one-year, non-guaranteed deal. 

Brogdon, 32, brings experienced and proven floor generalship to the table, with a history of overachieving as a second-round pick who won the 2016 Rookie of the Year.

Despite recent injuries and a fade into irrelevance on bad teams the last two seasons, Brogdon holds strong value as a backup on a minimum contract, the type of player the Knicks want to keep around by guaranteeing his deal after training camp.
