NextImg:Luke Bryan reveals why he actually fell on stage after blaming cell phone

Luke Bryan is sharing his real theory as to why he wiped out on stage at his concert in Canada over the weekend.

The “American Idol” judge initially blamed a fan’s cell phone for causing him to tumble — and even made a wisecrack about calling his lawyer — but Bryan now admits he was just joking around with his fans.

“Everybody is reporting [about the] cellphone, but I was kind of hamming that up,” Bryan, 47, told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t think it was a cell phone. I think it was just slick.”

Bryan explained to Entertainment Tonight that prior to the fall his back had been acting up, so he feared the “slick” wipeout may have further injured him.

“Ironically, last week, I was having back trouble to the point where I had to get a chiropractor to the room,” he told the outlet. “It’s because I’ve been cycling. When I get to L.A., I love to go cycling around. I love it out here.

“[Anyway], so when I hit the ground, I was like, ‘Oh!’ The first thing [I thought] was, ‘Oh god, all the work I did to get my back feeling better is out!'” Bryan added with a laugh.

Years ago, the “One Margarita” had been rocking out in North Carolina when he came too close to the edge of the stage and fell off. Despite needing a few stitches, Bryan finished the show.
