A former Mets infielder is headed to a fierce division rival.
Luis Guillorme agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.1 million after being non-tendered by the Mets, Atlanta announced.
Guillorme joins a Braves team that acquired seven-time All-Star Chris Sale in a splashy move with the Red Sox that sent former infield prospect Vaughn Grissom to Boston.
The Braves also extended Sale for two years and $38 million this week.
Guillorme, who spent six years in New York, will provide depth on a loaded Braves infield that will return National League All-Stars Ozzie Albies, Matt Olson, Austin Riley and Orlando Arcia.
Guillorme, a 10th-round pick of the Mets in 2010, hit .261/.344/.333 in 334 big league games.
Last season, Guillorme hit .224 with nine RBIs in just 54 games after battling a calf injury.
While light on power, Guillorme, 29, built a reputation for his fielding prowess, playing second base, third base and shortstop while in Flushing.
Per Baseball Savant, he recorded six outs above average in 2022 but rated negatively on that side this past season.
As a Met, Guillorme had a career .981 field percentage, .996 in 147 games at second base, where he only logged two errors.
In late November, the Mets signed the versatile Joey Wendle to a one-year deal, likely filling Guillorme’s utility role.
