A Long Island pizzaiolo has been arrested after he walloped his co-worker with a pizza peel in a heated fight at the shop earlier this week, police said.

John Vano, 50, and the 42-year-old victim got into a spat around 8:15 p.m. Saturday inside La Piazza on Merrick Road near Frankel Boulevard in Merrick, according to Nassau County Police.

An irate Valo then struck his colleague in the back of the head with the peel, which is used to move pies in and out of the oven, according to the criminal complaint.

John Vano, 50, used the kitchen tool to strike his co-worker during a heated fight at La Piazza in Merrick, cops said.
