There’s nothing like story time with Mark Consuelos — especially when it has to do with his dating history. On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the actor gave more insight into the “wild” women he typically went for before he married Kelly Ripa.

According to recent data from the online dating platform Bumble, going after someone who isn’t your type “can be successful,” Consuelos read during the opening chat. The Riverdale alum then revealed he was open to anyone before he met his longtime wife.

“When I was dating, I would say I was very open. [I cast] a wide net. A wide, wide net,” Consuelos said, before later adding, “I didn’t have a type.”

Ripa — who joked that her husband’s dating stories are her “favorite” — agreed with him. However, she noted that he did “like them wild” — at least, that’s what his mother told her.

So what caused Consuelos to finally settle down? Well, he said he came to his senses.

“I came to my senses and I said, ‘I need someone who is kind and beautiful, funnier than me.’ That was very important,” he explained, to which Ripa sarcastically quipped, “So who did you wind up with then?”

It hasn’t been too long since we last heard about Consuelos’ dating past. In a conversation from last month that sounded extremely similar to the one they had today, Ripa revealed that her husband wasn’t the best at picking girlfriends.

“Well, according to people in your past who shall remain nameless, you had a wild attraction to women who were not necessarily good for you. Let’s put it that way. Maybe not the most feet planted firmly on the ground,” Ripa told her husband, to which he replied, “But they’re exciting!”
